Rinus in 't Groen (The Netherlands)

Na een introductievlucht met Bob Bailey tijdens de WK-2004 in Australië  heb ik naast het deltavliegen  er een passie bij gekregen, namelijk het vliegen in de DragonFly.  Mijn zoon Rob en ik hebben een kit besteld bij Moyes en Bob is naar Nederland overgekomen om deze te bouwen.  In oktober 2008 heb ik mijn vliegbrevet gehaald en in 2010 had Bill Moyes mij uitgenodigd om in Forbes de Flatlands te slepen. Ik heb Desirée van der Leeden opgeleid tot een heel goed tug-pilot en zij zou ook heel graag in 2013 Forbes willen ervaren. Inmiddels heb ik meer dan 1.000 sleepstarten gemaakt in de DragonFly. Ik vind het fantastisch dat Bill me dit jaar in Italië wederom heeft gevraagd om naar Forbes te komen om de hang glider piloten in een mooie thermiekbel te zetten, zodat ze dan zelf op eigen- en natuurlijke energie uren vooruit kunnen. Due to an introduction flight with Bob Bailey at the 2004 World Championship in Australia, I have a new passion next to hang gliding: Flying the DragonFly. Almost immediately after these Worlds, we ordered a kit from Bill Moyes. Just a few months later we had Bob over to the Netherlands to build our plane.

In October 2008, I obtained my pilot's license. Since then I am towing almost every weekend in Stadskanaal, the Netherlands. At this moment I have made more than 1000 tows with the DragonFly. In the Forbes Flatlands 2010 Bill made me part of his towing team, which I enjoyed a lot. I think it fantastic, that Bill asked me again to come to Forbes for the upcoming competition. I am looking forward to put the hang glider pilots in nice thermals, such that they can continue for hours thereafter on natural energy. Se more at www.mintgroen.nl

Meanwhile I have trained Desiree van der Leeden to be a very good tug pilot. In fact she is the best female tug pilot of Europe. Desiree is now very keen to experience Forbes 2013.
